fifteen years of
weddings photography
As seasoned wedding creatives with a background in fine art academia (including five years that Jamie spent teaching photography at the college level), we have an unparalleled understanding of the technical aspects of our craft. Our attention isn’t tied up in the mechanics of our cameras, it’s focused on you:
- We spend the day fully engaged: catching every nuance and putting you and your family at ease.
- We're FAST: moving through formalities with efficiency and precision so you can spend more time celebrating.
- We're free to play creatively: pushing boundaries to create images as distinctive as your once-in-a-lifetime event.

From our couples
Jamie truly understands how to utilize lighting, shadows, colors, angles, reflections, and so much more.
These perfected skills mixed with his extremely considerate, creative and kind personality created the most perfect day, and the most perfect pictures to preserve these memories.”

My story
A wild art school
kid who fell in love with photography
I fell in love with photography during my time at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I studied photography with a focus on visual storytelling and fine art. I knew early on that this was more than a passion — it was my life’s work.
After graduating, I set off on a 12-week cross-country road trip to explore, photograph, and find a new place to call home (I’m originally from the DC area). I eventually landed in Austin, where I photographed my first wedding — and instantly knew this beautiful blend of real connection, art, and storytelling was what I was meant to do.
Since then, I’ve been documenting weddings around the world — including a 3-year stint in New Mexico while I earned my master’s degree in photography. These days, I’m based in Manchester, UK, and I continue to capture destination weddings that are moody, romantic, and timeless.
I’m James Oliver — most folks call me Jamie — and I’m the artist behind James Oliver Photography.

two truths & a lie

Our first date was a “quick” trip to visit Zach’s grandma in Florida — it lasted ten days.
2.
When we first started dating, we spent many sunny afternoons joyriding around Savannah on Zach’s cherry-red motorcycle.
3.
